Why Join Post 192 of the American Legion?

Join the men and women veterans of Post 192 and make a difference to veterans, their families, and our communities!

If you have served on active duty in the United States Armed Forces since December 7, 1941, and have been honorably discharged or are still serving, you are eligible to join us as a member in making that difference. Some of what we do is described in the foregoing but there is no obligation whatsoever to participate in any of our activities.

You can support us and your fellow veterans by simply being a member, which is only $30 annually, and your membership provides you with several benefits. Your membership gives you and your family practical, money-saving discounts that can easily save you many times the cost of your annual membership dues. You receive the Monthly Legion Magazine in which our nation leaders speak directly to citizens within its pages. You can receive a $1,000 Accidental Death Benefit from the Legionnaire Insurance Trust at no cost to you. Your dues also help support Department Service Officers nationwide who assist veterans in preparing claims and obtaining their full military healthcare benefits through the VA. Your membership helps the advocacy of The American Legion in its fight for increased support for active-duty military and veterans, including initiatives such as better active-duty pay, improved housing for active-duty families, increased employment opportunities for veterans, and helping to ensure that the VA’s medical system can properly care for veterans.

If you prefer to be an active member, please join us the first Thursday of every month, except July and August, at the Jack Sheppard Community Center (Wenonah Train Station) for food and beverages beginning NLT 6:30 pm, followed by our monthly meeting (not to exceed an hour) beginning at 7:00 pm. You’ll receive our quarterly newsletter, our pre-meeting agendas, and our warm welcome to our ranks.
