ABOUT US

Wenonah’s Post 192 of the American Legion was chartered on August 10, 1920, less than a year after Congress chartered the national American Legion. In 2020, Post 192 celebrated its 100th year of serving veterans, active-duty military, their families, and our communities.

 

Comprising nearly 100 members, Post 192 engages in numerous activities to support the military community as well as communities in our neighborhoods.  The Post actively seeks collaboration with other veterans and civic groups to achieve greater, more effective outcomes (see "Partners" Tab).  Among its many activities, Post 192 provides funding to the NJ Department of The American Legion and National Headquarters to support veterans programs (see "About" Tab).

Interested in Becoming a Member?

Are you currently serving in the US military or did you serve honorably during any period since December 7, 1941? If so, then you are eligible to join!

No expectations that you attend meetings or be active!  You'll receive email notices of all our activities & you can decide whether you attend any or not.  We have many members who support us simply with their membership & we appreciate everyone of them!

Veterans & Mesothelioma

Post 192 of the American Legion is a nonprofit organization and is tax exempt under Internal Revenue Code § 501(c)(19) for organizations that benefit veterans of the United States Armed Forces. Internal Revenue Code section 7701(a)(15) defines “Armed Forces of the United States” to include all regular and reserve components of the uniformed services which are subject to the jurisdiction of the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of the Army, the Secretary of the Navy, or the Secretary of the Air Force, and each term also includes the Coast Guard.
